A Previous thread on this topic has been closed and archived. However I would like to offer some further information. In 1944 I was a member of the ATS Provo Wing. I was asked to volunteer for special duties, and I found myself posted to the Hall as a guard for female German POWS. Many of them were nurses, and I have memories of taking them to Bishop Auckland Hospital to nurse male German POWS. In December I took one of the POWS to that same hospital to give birth to her baby. (This birth was mentioned on the previous post).
I was at the Hall for about 6 months.
I am now aged 90 years and living in Tasmania. I would to know if anyone else has similar memories.
