The control is a vintage relic from the 1950s. It was once apart of a combined heat powerplant till its demolition in 2007, it housed around six generating sets over its lifetime, supplying vital electrical power and process steam directly to the adjacent sodium-carbonate and ash works.
Not sure on the history of the former sections of the soda ash other than it sits in the middle of a very active section of the plant, just sectioned off via a small white fence.
