WOOLLEN SIGNS. SHEFFIELD
Not seen a report for this side of Woollen Signs for some time, the other part of the premises has had quite extensive coverage. This part of the building was obviously given over to the manufacture of neon signs and the larger pub signage. But the interesting thing about being in this side of Woollens is that it gives direct access to the two businesses next door, The Anchor Works Tool Hire and what was Howells Solicitors. The tool hire company was trading till quite recently while the solicitors has been empty for quite some time judging by the office plants!
Had a quick pop into the print side of Woollens, this has experienced a considerable amount of traffic and as a consequence a lot of the things that made it interesting have walked. The letters and signs have gone, so no more leaving messages in gold embossed Times Roman for the next visitor. But still a good visit.

WOOLLENS HISTORY (Nicked off wildboyz, thanks!)
Woollen Signs, later Woollen & Co Ltd by 1897, was established in Sheffield in 1883 by Edwin James Woollen and Frederick Ibbotson. Woollen was a sign-writer, while his partner, Ibbotson, was a lithographic writer. Records suggest that Woollen & Co Ltd. moved premises a number of times, however, in 2008, after 125 years, the company ceased trading altogether following a takeover. The takeover was prompted by the fast-changing digital age because many other contemporaneous competitors could offer signs and graphic solutions at much quicker and cheaper rates. Nonetheless, Woollen Signs re-emerged in the same year, as ‘Woollen Signs Limited’, when a number of former employees endeavoured to continue the business – especially with some of the previous customer base. Woollen Signs Limited continue to pride themselves on their, workmanship, fresh ideas, better quality materials and their use of traditional experience; with staff being trained as qualified sign writers without the use of computers.

On with the Pictures...indulge me there's a few!

SOLICITORS OFFICES.
Howells Solicitors must have abandoned this part of Love Street many moons ago. But again this must have been quite a place in it's pomp, panelled offices throughout.
Now just home to some steroid fuelled spiders.

Ironically, i work right next to this after exploring it previously. Colleagues have seen peeps in and out and don't understand the whys. Apparently, police have been informed several times. Be cautious and go outside business hrs if you fancy a looksee.
