General - Woolsingston Hall NW Newcastle 22.3.15

Woolsington Hall 22.3.15 Hi i am new to this so bear with me ,i live a mile away from this derelict hall Nw of newcastle and have known for a while of this being turned into a hotel/spa golf course complex and is up for a public inquiry at this time and my daughter said friends of hers go up there to look at it ,so walked up today (sunday 23.3.15) and had a walk around . The house has vague records but is a grade 2 listed building with English Heritage and what information i do know is it belonged to the Bell family of Dinnington (a mile away) and in 1915 it was used by the four battalions of the 103rd Tyneside Irish brigade as a camp base so they could travel to Ponteland to practice trench warfare before giving it up and moving to Salisbury Plain .Little is known of its history until Sir John Hall bought it for £1.4 million in 1994 and he was warned with legal action unless he did something with it as he originally had plans whilst owner of Newcastle United to have a hotel /training complex and golf course set up ironically what is happening present day minus the training ground as he sold off Newcastle United years ago

Cheers mate, you got some lovely pics there! You just need to remove the text after each pic (trust me I had the same problem getting my first report right too - always use the preview facility it helps loads and you can see what text you need to delete from your link details )

You need to loose the links as the Lady says and if you increase the picture size it"d help the viewing experience :)

whoope do got there in the end think i have the hang of it now ,don't have time atm to change image size but do i have to edit every image bb code in flickr to do that ?i am using firefox forumtagsplus and cannot for the life of me work out how it works

You have 24 hours to edit a post, probably better to EDIT delete pics and redo them in a larger size, it used to be medium before the Forum change. try one and preview so you"ll know for certain before adding the others. It"s all good practice

Double space between pics would help as well

I find it easier to type my reports up in notepad, put in all the links and edit out the bits of the BB code I don't need there, copy and paste to the forum then preview it to see how it looks

looks ok now, the pics could do with being a bit bigger but not mega important. The only other thing is the dates will tell everyone (including the site owners) exactly when you were there which has the potential to leave you wide open to all sorts of grief, generally just the month and year are used to cover your back a little
