Visited with chiroptera.

Wredon Quarry was an active limestone quarry from the 70s to the mid 2000s.
There is currently a planning application to resume operations there by merging operations with Wardlow Quarry, which is just to the West, though it seems to have been postponed a year.

This was actually one of my favourite recent explores, and we haven't exactly been idle.
We headed in late in the evening, just as it was about to get dark, hoping that nothing too serious had changed since the last report.

We were in luck - the site was just as we hoped it would be. It's hard to convey just how inhumanly huge the crater is, it makes the giant rusting hulks of the quarry machinery look tiny in comparison.

We headed into the largest building and got to work.

Heading outside again, the silence was stunning. It's basically a massive echo chamber, almost completely devoid of life. We could hold conversations over ridiculous distances. We could hear water dripping in distant buildings, it was mad. Anyway, chiroptera made good use of the darkness to run around on the quarry floor.

On our way out we, we lightpainted the entire quarry with two Lensers. If you still need convincing about the p7...

We almost made a smooth exit from this rather eerie place, but a guard dog at one of the houses where we parked took a rather keen interest in us,
so I had to take a crash course in driving with wellies (fortunately, light on the crashing).

Anyway, enough rambling. Thanks for looking!
