So a very busy day found us starting at Thamesteel for a few hours, before moving onto an old brickyard, then Wye College and finishing with a nearby Asylum that the name escapes me.

Can't find out a huge amount on the Wye college labs aside from a little excerpt from Wiki, but when you get onto the premises it's clear that it's a plant facility from loads of greenhouses dotted around. This is what I found out on Wiki:

The Wye campus developed from 1894 until 2000. It occupies a 3 km² estate, which includes a farm, managed woodland, and ancient grassland for agroecological research. These resources were augmented by glasshouses, climate-controlled growth rooms for plants and insects, and a containment facility for transgenic plants that supported laboratory-based research. There were dedicated laboratories for plant molecular biology, genomics and gene sequencing, electron microscopy, use of radiochemicals, microbiology, soil analysis, and plant/animal cell culture. Some of these lab facilities were removed by Imperial College.

If any of you do decide to have a little look, be aware that this building is heavily infested with mould so would advise some sort of mask to clean up the air you are breathing, also to drown out the smell as it is very unpleasant.

There is a lot of wall shots but tbh they were the most interesting... With all the mould etc... Good explore thou but stinks :)

Haha I would like to say it was still ticking but honestly don't know... It does seem pretty shiny still, maybe it's spore proof...;)

As others have pointed out, this is actually an old DEFRA building and is not related to Wye College which was just up the road a bit (and is also an amazing assortment of abandoned buildings)

It's looking a lot worse for wear in there these days!

Hi guys,

Just to let you know, this place is now fenced off and looks like it's about to be demolished. Shame as some of the artwork was awesome.
