History:
After the second world war the reconstruction of Europe had started. What laid central to this reconstruction was the hunger for energy. Coal was the most commonly available and cheap resource which could be used for the rebuilding of heavy industry in West-Germany. This demand caused the trend of modernizing the coal mines all over Germany. Around the 60s one coal mining company decided to built a brand new mine in the middle of the countryside. This new complex would be connected to a already existing mining system, why this was done was to cut short the underground travel time for the miners. After over 40 years of constant production the mine finally closed around the turn of the millennium. Today the mine is a decaying time capsule of a bygone era.
