    Hey guys,

This is a first report and I wasn't expecting to be shown inside the building so I apologise if it's not very good, the pictures were taken on my iPhone and we were in a bit of a rush to get to the Beatrix Potter Museum :gay

This is all the information I can find -
"Underscar Manor, which only five years ago was visited by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, has had its locks changed and its two gated entrances padlocked.
For 19 years, until November 2009, the imposing property was run as a hotel by its then owners Derek and Pauline Harrison and Gordon Evans.
With spectacular views from the lower slopes of Skiddaw, and impressive gardens, Underscar was popular with celebrities, including the television presenter Jonathan Dimbleby and the Queen’s photographer John Swanell.
It was eventually sold to a wealthy Russian businessman, who has been seen only rarely at Underscar Manor but has commissioned considerable building work there.
This has included the erection of a number of impressive ornamental pagodas. Two life-sized stone statues of stags now also stand, sentry-like, at the manor’s entrance.
Over last weekend, say locals, there was a flurry of activity at the house as its contents were removed under the watchful eye of security staff. People walking in nearby woodland have been turned away by someone describing himself as a security worker."

There is 24 hour CCTV and security staff, there are also no ways into the building itself, there is going to be more and more work starting on this place as it goes, and security is already tightening up.

    Anyway, on with the pictures.

    The room full of chairs..

My pants attempt at a good photograph.

The building is being restored and extended quite impressively and in keeping with the style of the original building.

    Hidden doors in the bookshelf!

Can you tell a Russian owned the place?

These were awesome, i wan't one in my garden.

A few of the views, imagine looking out to that over breakfast.

The building from a distance, the house is only about 1/2 - 2/3 of the building you can see, some of it is taken by a spa and sort of holiday homes.

    Thanks for looking,
