Been meaning to make the effort and get over to Eastry for months now, after the recent fire I thought that I wouldn't get a chance, but fortunately this afternoon I found myself having a look around the former asylum.

    Histoy pinched from 2wid's report:
The explore itself was a bit laboured. I was massively hungover to start off with, had a hellish train journey. I took my bike to cycle to Eastry, and had memorised the route. After about five miles I realised that something wasn't right, and worked out I was well over half way to Deal, and needed to go back. I was dying by the time I got to my destination. Anywho, I was pleasantly surprised to see how big what's left of the place is, and cracked on.

I believe the building on the left was where the recent fire took place, although it didn't appear to be too badly damaged.

The first hole in the wall that I wasn't connected to the rest of the building it turned out.

These photos are from the building that's the furthest to the East, next to the fire station.

    Bath time? :D

The final building I went in turned out to be the main one, and had a lot of hospital-related equipment around, unlike my recent trip to St. Augustines.

Had a few disagreements with the floor on the way in to this room, fortunately I didn't make the hole any bigger.

Found the above in the basement.

Time was starting to become an issue at this point, so I rushed around the rest of the building

I had a quick look around the chapel before I left, didn't see anything obvious though :( Then set off for the much-easier cycle ride back.

Quite a cool site in all, shame about the floor in places though. Seriously spooked myself at one point, got to stop doing solo explores!
