The hexagonal Victoria clock tower at Salisbury Dock stands between two disused locks that formerly gave access between the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the Mersey estuary beyond.

Salisbury Dock is one of a group of docks opened on the same day in 1848 and all designed by Jesse Hartley - the others being Collingwood, Stanley, Nelson and Bramley-Moore Docks. The Victoria Clock Tower is located at the entrance to Salisbury Dock. As communication routes became more complex in the 19th century the need to know the exact time increased.

Above are the 3d render versions where it was used in ITV's 'The Outsiders'.

    The Explore:

After a long day for Stepping Lightly, we (Snappel & Myself) met up with him and worked our way towards the towerd. Great night for it. Anyway, on the inside it is pure pigeon hell. Attempting to battle our way through the corridoors and stairs being bombarded by hundreds of frantic birds is a f**king nightmare at the best of times.

Snappel actaully had one land on his head. We all got hit on the head but one actually sat on his. Not sure how high it is but its a lot higher than it initially looks since there is nothing around to gauge it against. Here are the pics, enjoy:
