    Another stop off on my list of North East sites!

    Visited with Horus, Goan, Forsaken and two more guys, but I can't remember their forum Alias'! Doh! :banghead

    The Victoria Tunnels are beautifully crafted from red brickwork and stretch for longer than seems possible, especially on the walk back up the hill.
    There is a 700 metre section recently restored and open to the public, but naturally we visited the still abandoned from WW2 3.2Km section. Its mainly striped of the benches that would have seated some very scared people during Luftwaffe bombing raids. It still has the blast deflector walls, and a couple of painted signs, that have somehow managed to avoid being painted over by the graf "artists".

    The Wiki is here should you fancy any light reading material!

    Here's a few of my shots;

    This is the section that has been reinforced for the Metro system

    It shakes like a busted tumble drier when a train comes close!

    Before heading out, Goan entertained us with a wire wool display
