Visited with Catullus. Our trip started and ended with much fail, but had a lot of good stuff in the middle.
We got there early, thinking there wouldn’t be any builders about before sunrise at the weekend. We were wrong! Almost as soon as we got there, we saw builders in hi viz. Then, while attempting to gain access, I ripped my trousers in the crotch area.
From there onwards, for the next 5 and a half hours, we explored the site. We managed to see quite a lot, although there’s still plenty to go back for.
Having seen most of the western end of the site, we decided to risk heading towards the water tower. We were about 5 seconds from entry, when security (who were patrolling the corridors) spotted us. We were escorted from the site by a friendly security guard (not the infamous MC Hammer). As we were led past the builders’ huts, it appeared that the builders were on a tea break as there were lots of them standing around chatting. There was pointing and laughing by them as we passed them, with shouts from them of “chuck them in the wheelie bin”. They also asked us “did you see the padded cell?”

I won’t bother with the history, seeing as you all know about this place anyway, so on with the photos…..

I went back to West Park last week, and rather than posting a new report I thought I'd just tag the photos on the end of my previous report.
