This trip destroyed me.
After years of cider abuse, and a less than healthy lifestyle the prospect of a 593 foot crane climb was making me feel very uneasy.
After making our way into the site we begun our ascent. AndrewB ipod'd up and went first, with me following a few minutes later once I was confident enough that the workers in the street outside hadn't spotted us.
Ladder after ladder the streets below disappeared into the semi- darkness, and rung by rung my arms started to become jelly like, constantly hitting my right knee upon each step upwards.
Reaching the top was incredible. Initially because I wasn't climbing anymore, but when you lift your head and lay your eyes on the views across London you have to stop your jaw falling the 180 metres back to normality.
Visited with AndrewB, and thanks again mate!
