This site is due to be flattened soon, to make way for a Tesco or some sort of unaffordable housing eyesore, hence a visit sooner rather than too late.
Visited with FaZy_uk and his brother, nice to meet you lads :thumb

Lots of wooden buildings, some in very good condition, some rotted smashed and sagging dangerously with big drops under floors! Full of white asbestos.

Can't afford a Rolls? You can get the boiler instead...

Floors were randomly sawn across and ripped up; no idea why as the pipework is all iron!

Sprayed concrete on metal lath - security or water proofing? The toilets for this shed were on the other side of the wall.

Polish number tags. Apparently the site was used to house migrants in the 70's?

Burnt remains. Felt very post apocalypse.

Just a few of my pics:

The 'Stanton' shelter from the roof of the shower block.

Although it may not be an official Stanton, as it has a strange, flat-walled build.

Steps to the escape shaft:

Looking down the hatch:

Main shelter entrance:

In the shelter - an old Esso tyre advert:

Looking down the length of the shelter, note the flat (not arched) walls

And looking back to the main entrance:

aamusements pointed out this old poison bottle to me. It has physical lines on the side so that blind people know what it is

One of the buckling sheds in the compound:

Charred building:

In a ladies toilet - I believe this was a very old sanitary towel incinerator:

Smashed sinks in the shower block:

Slate tiling outside shower block:

Old, old electrical outlet:

Overgrown water tower at top of hill:

Pure ageing:

And again - I believe this was a walkway between the accomodation blocks

Another walkway:

We actually made it across this:

Barred windows:

Building with completely collapsed porchway:

My attempt at photography with an N95 :P
