This is my second visit to the site,
The Carmelite nuns moved to the convent in1872, Finally completing additions such as the chapel in 1930. The Carmelite's left in 1994 due to dwindling numbers and lack of funds. It was then converted in to 2 and 4 bedroom flats for local farmworkers.
In 2009 when the farmworkers had vacated the building, the chapel was burnt down, arson was not rulled out but I can not find any information on the outcome of this.
we only had access to the outer parts of the building within the walled garden as the rest of it was very secure.
