Been looking through some pictures of Chatterley on my laptop this afternoon and realised I've never really posted them anywhere. Therefore this is now the 31st(!) thread on the place (yes I counted), but personally, it's not somewhere I'd ever get bored of seeing, or being for that matter! I definitely can't match the level of photography, thoroughness and knowledge displayed on others' write ups - namely the excellent jobs done by AndyK and raisinwing (see here and here) but this is really just a collection of pictures taken whilst having fun and clambering about - which is what it's all about I suppose!

There's also been some less than fun times, including a broken wheel bearing after crashing my car on black ice about 2 minutes up the road prior to the first visit. Climbing the monster fence one time and then spending the entire visit worrying about doing it again on the way back out. Plus the time we chose to visit at the exact time the council and the security were on site sealing shit back up, including having a go at bodging the bent sheeting back while we were blissfully unaware in the underground experience...

Most visits done with a combination of raisinwing Humpa Gsxrwayne & oldboots. Pictures vary in quality, some phone, some camera.

A frosty sunrise from 2019 to end on, I've no idea why we started so early! o_O

Lovely collection and variety mate. Can't remember seeing the spiral before though. Still gutted I never got in the bath house though.

Love it. One of the all time greats I'm still yet to see for some reason.

Thanks Mook. Surprised to hear that, assumed you'd been yonks ago!

Yeah the nice spiral is in the bath house somewhere. Sure you'll get another chance Mikey!

Greatly Captured. (Yes I'm getting bored of saying nice)

Definitely one of the good ones this country has to offer.

Info on this mine says that the shafts were only capped off, not filled in as they used to conduct tours of the old workings at the shallower 700ft level though these ceased in the early 1990's. It had very extensive workings and was linked to Wolstanton mine by a four mile long tunnel.
