Report - Newport bridge, Middlesbrough - June 2014

This pedestrian, vehicle bridge
links Middlesbrough.
The vertical lifting bridge was designed by Mott Hay and Anderson,
and built by Dorman long.
opened on 28th February 1934,
last lifting on 18th November 1990.
Theres 2 towers one north and another south of 180ft, the bridge span between is 269ft.
The bridge carries the, A1032 road.
The bridge is due too be part refurbished in 2014 and painted white, red.

reaching the north tower was abit difficult considering the heavy traffic,
theres a long ladder with no hiding.

Not since 1990

Nices pics from an iconic Bridge

I always call round for some pics when in the area. Had many a near miss doing the middle of the road shot

Always seem to be iffy characters about when i go lol

The transporter bridge is closed until September 2014 for refurbishment
