Explored with @cattos mc budget

Just a quickie this one, this culvert is just shy of 100m in length and carries the overflow water from Black Dam Ponds under the A339 to join the River Loddon nearby. Only about half of the culvert is safely traversable as it narrows and drops into a "flume" which is very fast, looks a good waterslide though. ;)

Here's the infall, we followed the watercourse upstream a short distance and found the outlet for the overflow in Black Dam Ponds which was a 1.5ft pressurised RCP. The whole setup is located in a deep valley which was jokes getting down.

It was very rocky underfoot and the flow was quite turbulent which we had to be cautious of. We originally found this culvert in March but waited a little while to see if the water levels would drop which they hadn't.

At the end is a small manhole chamber where the water drops down into the flume which was quite loud. Cars kept driving over the manhole above which scared us every time. @cattos mc budget dropped one of his gloves which he caught just in the nick of time as it was about to go down the flume, that's the quickest I've ever seen him move!

Here's the flume, the water carries on a short distance towards the outfall at quite a speed.

Thanks for reading. :thumb
