Anyone from down this way knows this place, it used to have a couple of submarines moored up, now there are some huge landing vehicles, and a tank, visible from the M275.
The first thing I saw was some torpedoes on a roof, and some boats on trailers, then HMS Stalker, report here
There were lots of aircraft propellers around the site, that were corroded and the blades bent backwards - salvage from plane crashes?
There is a complete gun 4.5inch twin gun turret, complete, virtually mint inside. and well worth a look.
The anchor collection would see you a rich man in the scrap matal business.
Went to the east side of the motorway to have a look at the vehicles, but it was getting dark and there was a big lack of artificial light to help out.
Saw the tank and the landing vehicles. It's the back side of the vehicle that you can see from the motorway. The front is a smooth beach-landing type bow. The tyres when inflated fully would stand 9 ft high, and these vehicles load bays were full of them.
