Hi everyone. My first report here, although been lurking since about 2006.
I've always liked the idea of exploring abandoned places or places you shouldn't normally be.
Thought I'd try and see West Park before it is fully gone. Visited with RustProofHawk and 2 others. Started at 10:30am and didn't leave until about 5:30pm, when we casually strolled out past security who didn't look too happy!
We did get caught by one of the demo workers about 2 hours in but we sweet talked him and he let us carry on.
Many other explorers were there that Sunday, met about 4 different groups. On with the pics, hope I haven't posted too many.
Poor old piano!
Looking out the projection booth door:
Need to go?
Where we were headed...
Plenty of steps:
Underneath one of the massive tanks inside the tower:
Going up:
A'top the tower, no door though. Could see either security or demo workers below having some lunch, so we had out picnic and a smoke at the top too, enjoying the view:
Through the bars, see the workers by the car?:
Looking towards Wembley, you could see the arch from all this way:
Bending the world:
And with a quick whistle we saw the guys we had bumped into earlier, waving in and out of the buildings below. Was quite funny once they realised we were at the top of the tower:
OK, onto the tourist spots now, padded cell:
Corridoors:
Of course, the famous items left behind:
Destruction and Decay:
Marriage of the Machines:
I feel this really should have been saved, it's over 100 years old apparently:
Going, going, gone:
Time to go home:
It's image heavy but hope you enjoyed the pictures. More, if anyone wants more.
