BONNAIRE IS A DUTCH ISLAND OFF THE COAST OF VENEZUELLA. THE TOURSIT SIDE IS ON THE LEE OF THE ISLAND WITH TRANQUIL SEAS AND TROPICAL BREEZES. THE WINDWARD SIDE IS CALLED THE WILD SIDE. IT IS ROCKY BARREN AND FORBIDDING. FEW PEOPLE LIVE HERE AND THE ONLY TOWN NEARBY IS THE OLD SLAVE TOWN OF RINCON.

There is a good sized population of wild burros that roam this area. These where tamer than some , hence the relative close ups

Despite the island becoming increasingly a touristy there still remain a surprising number of decaying older homes in the old slave town of Rincon.
