Report - Abandoned Horse & Groom Pub A505 - June 2020

Hi All,
This evening me and a couple of friends travelled from Stevenage to the Abandoned Horse & Groom Pub on the A505 which was a 13 Mile drive to take some photos we were there for 2 hours having good fun.
This Pub became abandoned in October 2005 as of the busy A505 road and a loss of Custom.

Well that looks absolutely shagged, but fair play for getting out and doing stuff.

That graff of Moe from The Simpsons is kinda cool.

Wouldnt even know it was ever a pub! could of easily been a happy eater or such. But yes fair play getting out there, definitely a case of mind your step. Some rough derpage there. But an explore is an explore, not surprised it lost custom. Not exactly best placed

Thanks, This place has suffered a lot of vandalism and damage over the past 15 years I’m not really sure what will happen to the site next either being demolished and the site left empty or demolished and rebuilt into a service station.

No not Sheffield this is along the A505 going towards Royston there is also an abandoned Petrol Station just 2 miles before this abandoned pub on the same road as the A505 going towards Royston

Two bits of local history. I have heard about that I’ve also heard because the site is on the Cambridgeshire border and the A505 is on the Hertfordshire border there’s nothing you can build on a border apparently I reckon that will be there until 2027 it’s mostly rotted away and the upstairs is non existent.

Well 1. Because it was a first abandoned building explore and 2. It was in the evening and the sunset was amazing that night so that’s why we spent 2 hours in there, the upstairs floor has completely gone and non existent now lol

Used to be a lorry park.
According to an ex copper I know, it also used to be a favourite drinking spot for the CID, most of whom would drive home after a skinfull.
