Little bit bored and with an hour spare this afternoon I decided to check out an old mill that is local to me.
History;
This silk weaving mill was built in 1823. The mill was originally built for the hand processing of silk. An engine house (which no longer survives intact) was added to the mill in 1871.
Grade 2 listed and recently used as a rehearsal studio for a local company who moved location in 2006
It also seems to have been used as an art space and photography studio on the upper floor and a cabinet makers elsewhere in the building.
It has been sold for approximately £200,000 and will probably be turned into apartments.
As I was already out and about I didn't have a tripod with me so unfortunately some images are a little flashed.
