Not sure if this is the best place to ask this (if it's not, any advice about who I should reach out to or where to post this would be greatly appreciated), but I know that students traveling to their place of study in the EU are now allowed in even if they're from somewhere like the US. Does this also apply to Americans studying in the UK? I know the UK has left the EU, but it's still in the transition period. I've been hoping to fly into Paris then take a taxi to the UK (I have a cat, and it's the safest way to get him to the UK). I have no idea who to reach out to to see if that would be possible.

There's a tit-for-tat quarantine thing from France implemented the other day, you'd be 'obliged' to spend 14 days indoors when you arrived but obviously we love bending the rules here.
What are you trying to do - return straight to the UK from the US? Via Dublin is probably the simplest option.

I’m on a trip with three doctors right now and they’re ranting about US ER procedures and prices. Apparently, ERs rarely receive payment. This means that you can call the hospital when you receive the bill and negotiate it down to a much lower price. For instance, my gf negotiated her ex’s bill from the ER from $10,000 to $4,000 by guaranteeing payment immediately.
