Visited last year with sinnerman. An excellent location, almost fully intact with little vandalism. At one point coal was brought straight from an adit from the colliery next door straight into the washery. A rail link also allowed coal to be brought in from other mines. Then it was broken down into a finer grade and washed. Several years ago the washery closed down, and is now sat disused. Dark, dusty and grimey, but very interesting.
