Report - Birdsall ROC Post, North Yorkshire - April 2016

The post is situated on a mound at the edge of a field, on the South side of the B1253.

The surface structures are in good condition apart from some cracking at the base of the entrance shaft.

The hatch and counterbalance weight are in good condition, however the lock is jammed in the unlocked position.

The monitoring room is in reasonable condition, there is some damage to the remaining furniture.

Chemical toilet.

Lovely! Went up to my local ROC post and it is in terrible condition, ladder off the wall burnt out etc..

Access is easy, the hatch is unlocked & just lifts up without difficulty.

Looks like it has been locked down and not a moment too soon, means the oiks will stop trashing it though it is another loss for us explorers.
