Visited with @AndyK on our European power trip, where we randomly decided in the middle of the week to head over on the train for a weekend of nearly falling asleep on the motorway.
So, as many people know, just off the centre of Charleroi is a massive derpscape of steelworks related goodness. I'm sure that not even half of it has been covered and believe me, we would have, but we didn't have two days!
Anyway, this power station was built for the coke works as part of the Cockerill-Sambre site and Jesus, it's like a "turbine museum" (quote @AndyK
) I'm guessing its silly euro name comes from the one light blue turbine at the end of the hall which is a lot newer than all the rest and it looks as if the power station was extended for this one part. All in all it's pretty nice and killed a good few hours.
