The first thing i must do is appologise for the quality of the pictures they are captured video frames.
I made a short video of this amazing place a few years ago (if anyone wants a copy pm me)
The brewery shaft is concrete lined 15 feet in diamiter and drops 80 metres from the underground acess point
It was used to produce compressed air by dropping water down pipes to drive pelton wheels and a air water seperator (just google brewery shaft for the story)

good work :) i am part of Wirksworth Mines Research Group and were winching Brewery in November :)

This is a pic i took looking down there earlier this year
