History
Those of you that live in the South East have probably heard of Leith Hill Tower in Surrey with its stunning 360 views. But did you know that tower also has an abandoned little brother a few miles away?
Broadmoor tower in Wotton was built around the same time (c1760) for Theodore Jacobsen, a Dutch merchant resident in England. It was abandoned around 1845. The 30 foot tower is still standing to this day.
The Explore
Nice and easy this one. Parked in a nearby carpark but had to negotiate some ridiculously dense rhododendrons, one of which has left me with an inch long scar. If you’re in the area then there’s also a bonus waterfall nearby and fantastic pub in the woods. Also checkout the red phonebox - its a tiny library!
Thanks for reading
Nearby waterfall.
