Complete newbie here so please be gentle. Constructive criticism much appreciated.

HISTORY
Castle was commissioned by the Montrose family in the 1850s and served as the family home until 1925. Built on the grounds of the old family house which was destroyed by fire. Operated as a hotel in 1930s which is when the golf course that is still in the grounds was set up. Was used as a hospital during WW2 and Rudolph Hess was a notable prisoner/patient during that time. Roof removed from the property in 1954 to avoid taxes and it's been deteriorating ever since.

OTHER INFO
The castle is surrounded by bamboo and woodland but it's in the middle of a small housing estate which makes it all the more incongruous. Access points are plentiful but there are residents about although they seem pretty resigned to the fact that they have people stopping to visit the site. There are a lot of holes in the floor and rotten beams so care is needed but there are some pretty cool spaces inside
