Report - Camden Rathole - August/September 2018

This is another place I've been wanting to cross off the list for a long time. I knew the approximate whereabouts of the place but couldn't for the life of me find where the access point was. Many thanks to @de_kebab for giving me a much needed helping hand!

Brief History

The Camden Service Tunnel, often called the Camden Rat Hole served as an empty carriage line between Willesden and Euston. It runs from south of Primrose Hill to where it connected to the Broad Street line, hidden beneath mainline tracks that run directly above.

I've been to this site twice in the last couple of months and it is an absolute hoot. The first time I went I was a bit overwhelmed and underprepared and ended going in the wrong direction for the tunnel. I also had a slight slip off a horizontal ladder and ended up pretty muddied. The second time I knew what to expect and was able to find my bearings thankfully. It goes without saying but trying to create decent light for photography down there is a challenge.

i was arrested in here 2 years ago. the picture with the yellow tape hanging from the ceiling, somewhere on the right not sure if its in shot or even there anymore was a PIR/camera combo which alerted a centre in wembley. someone see us access the place and called the police (response time was phenomenal) they came in and got us out. once we was outside the call from wembley came thru there was 3 x people in the tunnels (us) police didnt believe us that there was only 3 of us in there and was expecting another x 3 bods, turns out the wembley centre was slow / delayed

Glad to see you got in! - I have managed to get away with doing this place 3 times over the years but it's something I probably won't do again due to the risk. I feel like my luck is over! Nice report though

Pretty lucky to see the actual winding houses beneath the tunnels. It's usually flooded but gets pumped out once in a while. You can certainly include your self in only a handful of people to have actually seen it.
