Another local site I’d been meaning to have a look at for a long time. I was aware of the existence of the Pluto pipeline but had always fancied a closer look.
History (apologies for repeating previous threads)
Part of the Government Pipelines and Storage System (GPSS). The pipeline ran by the Oil and Pipelines Agency for the MOD consisted of some 2,500 Km of pipeline and 46 other facilities. It was built before World War II and was used to supply fuel for Operation Pluto.
The foggy morning offered a great atmosphere but unfortunately my morning stroll was cut shot by a lovely lady who was a little confused as to why and how I ended up on her land. I apologized and was quickly shown the front door!
