Hello all, this is my first report on here.

This trip to Chernobyl was very random, but a very inspirational trip and one that has led me to delve into Urbex a bit more. It came about after a mate rang me off his nut about 6am on a Sunday morning last March (2016), "I'm just watching this documentary on Chernobyl, i'm off my tits like but it looks fucking good, fancy it later on in the year?"

Fast forward to November and 3 of us were were boarding a 3am Monday morning flight from Gatwick to Kiev with good old Ukranian Airlines, the only airline where you get a 7kg hand luggage allowance and a can of Ukranian ale is cheaper than a can of 7UP.

A bit more about the trip now. At the time that we went, it was about 2 weeks before the new structure was due to be moved over the old structure. There was many top bods present there from the Ukranian Government, and we weren't allowed in that area. A little miffed, but we still got to see the smaller villages en route, Duga radar and Prypiat.

A few from the villages prior to hitting the 30km exclusion zone. I took all these on my phone camera, I did shoot a couple of roles of film, but they were all fucked when I got them developed. Not sure if my cameras had it or the radiation had done something to the film.

Stop off at the Chernobyl cafe. Some fine examples of soviet engineering.

Entering the Duga Radar/Woodpecker site. It is called the Woodpecker due to the 10Hz Frequency that was emitted when something entered the radar field.

Next, we moved onto a nursery. So many 80s style dolls and toys loitered around the place.

Belarus over yonder

Unforgettable views from up here, i'm not the skinniest and most athletic of blokes. 15 floors of running upstairs, safe to say I was fucked. Worth it though!
