Cliff Quarry is situated in Derbyshire, near the towns of Matlock and Ripley.
Been here a few times, but most pictures are from around August.
Cliff Quarry is a medium sized quarry, with a stone crusher and screening plant. Produced limestone aggregate, and the area is known for it's high quality.
Operated at first by The Clay Cross Company, with a metre gauge railway running through which was built by George Stephenson. Closed in 1958, and then reopened in the 60's for the building of motorways across the country. RMC and Tarmac operated it using road haulage, before passing to Aggregate Industries ownership in 2000, and closed in 2010 due to a downturn in sales.
The crushing plant, offices, canteens and vehicle garages are all still in place. Now privately owned and has little security.
