On the way back from a couple of days in Belgium we were passing Dadipark, having seen other posts on this and other forums we were excited at the thought of taking on the big wave slide, we found the location quite easily, but we were a bit confused about how little was actually there. We had a scout around the first building we could see which was the cafeteria and possibly ticket office. It was pretty trashed, lots of graffiti as we came out of the back door all we could see was an empty field, recently completely levelled.
Dadipark is the oldest amusement park in Europe dating back to the 1950s, over time the park evolved from a playground for the children of people visiting the local church to what it was. it was designed to be accessible for small children and the site had a poor accident history. In 2000, a nine year old boy lost his arm in one of the attractions. It was the latest and most serious in a series of incidents.
