Visited with Zippy and Stumpy.

We've been meaning to get back here for a long time, tonight we did with the sole aim of seeing the Nuclear magazine.

This is where nuclear bombs in transit were stored, there's a bulletproof watchtower with a searchlight on the roof outside.

Inside the door you are welcomed by the aircon room, and an original railway carriage, no engine though. The track goes around a sharpish bend to a set of doors. Through the doors is the main magazine, with a gantry crane and a small railway siding.

It’s used as secure storage these days I believe the Tate gallery stores something there.
