The post is LOCKED

Open 1960 closed 1991

The owner of this post obviously takes great care of it. It was so bizarre to see such a well maintained compound, which is in the middle of a very large field. This must be one of the best kept compunds around!

No access underground, even the gate to the compound is padlocked. This was a master post all of the guying points for the aerial are clearly visible.

Subrits reports from 2003 show the underground to be in pretty good nick Drewsteignton ROC Post – Subterranea Britannica wonder if the owner has restored it down below?

UPDATE JUNE 2011

Spoke with the post owner and arranged a visit, turns out he only lives a few miles from me.
He purchased the post in 2004 from a commucations company via an estate agent after it failed to sell on ebay.
The underground is as it was left apart from a few bits and peices he has taken down there, several itmes remain including the BPI baffles.

He cuts the grass every few weeks during the summer, had a nice chat and I explained more about the roc. The FSM plate on the surface was loose and was missing the securing rod luckily found it in a corner of the post so its now nice and secure.
