Stumbled on this place when I went on a Tour of Scotland with my band. We were playing in a bar in Dumbarton and this place was near by.
At the time the site was almost razed with one shell remaining and I did not have a clue what it was so me and a good friend went to have a look (only had my trusty Olympus compact camera with me so shots are not wonderful) Did not get very far as this was very high and the iron grated floor on the 5th floor did not look safe to cross (without a harness and rope) to the other stair case and it was a very very long way to fall - so chickened out basically.
Had a scout round the internet to find it was the remains of a Whisky Distillery that had been built in the 1930's and had been mothballed for several years. Gutted did not get there before demolition started.
Some more history and pic of the distillery when it was still open.
