I know a few people have done this location already but I thought id give it a shot saying as I was passing one night.
Access was quite straight forward, local chavs had left an easy enough trail to follow. The only problem we came across was the fact it was icy and we couldn't see 2 foot in front of us.
anyway a few photos :
Messing around with lights
Looking over towards gateshead.
What I completely forgot when reading about the staithes was that they were set on fire at some point. I got a canny fright when I relised the wooden beams i was standing on were all char-coaled and burnt. Even more of a freight when I walked down to the lower deck and looked up to find the main supporting joist where i was standing had collapsed. Close call !
Also I took a lot more photos but with me being a complete noob with DSLR camera's most of them turned out blurry.
