The former Elms Primary & Nursery School in St Ann’s dates back to the 1940’s and was built to reflect the rising demand for school places. It closed in August 2008 due to a reorganisation of St Ann’s schools to reduce surplus spaces and the building has remained vacant ever since. In 2017 Nottingham City Council granted £500,000 to remove asbestos and partially demolish the buildings. Work eventually stopped as more asbestos was found in underground ducts that were at the time inaccessible.
Previously there has been on site security + dog but it appears this is no longer the case.
The place is large for a primary school, although stripped and smashed. But it was fairly photogenic. Plus we had a comedy ‘leg itttttt’ style exit as a bonus. Visited with @Gsxrwayne
