Today’s task is the octagon, not normally my thing, and not sure if this should be here or on ‘Other’.

Here is the octagon from the floor.

That’s where I want

These are the largest of the 5,000 organ pipes at mid level. The bass notes are well, well, below human hearing. Hang on, don’t you poo your self if that happens…
03.jpg

Even at 5’6†and 10st. I struggled up here.

Crossing the roof of the nave to get to the octagon I think I’ve been spotted! P.S if that’s you can I have the photo?
05.jpg

The whole structure is timber
06.jpg

The archangels are actually painted on panels which you can open

A deep breath, and look down, 140ft to the alter below

All this lead can’t be light, especially only supported on 1,000 year old timber

The white spheres are Feltwell, 25 miles away (I only had a 55mm lens on)
14.jpg

Back on the ground, all archangels closed!
