Took a trip to Leicester to check out the Evington Brook on its last 1.5 mile urban journey before joining the River Soar.

Sadly, the majority of it is not underground, but the various underground sections are quite varied, if not heavily decorated with graffiti. Although fortunately, the graffiti was mainly on the concrete walls and not the brickwork.

Interesting finds included many mobile phones, an Amiga game on floppy disk, and pages from a Japanese porn mag! (I would have included a picture of the latter, but suspect it would be breaking forum rules).

There is a lot of rubbish in this brook, and whilst on my return, some lout slung an empty can of Carling over the wall of the brook near to where I was walking, so I chucked the bastard back over! :)

That looks like a fun walk! Did you look up the concrete box section and CSO looking pipe in the photo where the outfall looks like a train tunnel (12)?

nice one
did you find many bank cards like dweeb did?

No, I didn't spot a single one!

He must have collected the lot.

The concrete box culvert and RCP next to it are unfortunately do not lead to a CSO, as I was hoping. They go on for a long way in a straight line and just carry a small stream. :(

Wow... this was the first culvert I ever did, probably 15 years ago, back when I thought I was a bit weird for doing that sort of thing. I've not lived in Leicester for nearly 13 years, so it's pretty weird seeing it again. There wasn't much graff back then.
