Ive wanted to see this place for ages and finally went with REEF after a top day exploring Box mine.
The 2,200 yard tunnel was constructed in 1941 to securely transport ammo from the main railway line up the hill to Monkton Farleigh central ammunition depot, which was the largest underground ammo storage facility in Britain.
The tunnel had conveyor belts running through the entire length to carry the ammo.

After walking round Box mine for most of the day this was a bit of a slog to get to the end! I had stupidly taken off my boots in favour of friction-free sole trainers and the oily water on the ground half way along the tunnel proved quite tricky!
Really enjoyed this visit, theres a lot of history there
