Finedon scrapyard May 2023

[The Young One]

This is my first report so help will be welcomed
Finedon scrapyard is a disused scrapyard on the outskirts of Finedon (wellingbourgh) which shut down some time around the 1980's to 90's judging by some of the wrecks left. It was also home to a rental place called "rent a wreck or hire a heap). There is a large skeleton of a warehouse being built round the back off it so there's not a lot of time left for this place.

The Explore

The explore was a good couple hours spent wondering around the former junkyard filled with many cars. It seems to have drawn is some squatters we did not see.

The view we were greeted with

An old bedford truck

A old gmc van or truck hard to tell because of the decay

The burnt out garage.

An old beetle?

The old house (too dangerous to enter).

I dont know what this car is/was.

A lovely jaguar hiding beneath the rubble.

An old Dodge van?

A destroyed truck.

Didn't someone say that the land rover was gone? Well that's not the case but I don't think it's gonna be here for long.

It's a shame this place got beat to hell after it became another social media dog pile.

All the vans are either early Ford Transits or Bedford CFs there aren't any American vans there.

Good 1st report. Covered well in those tricky stinging conditions.

They were my favorite joggers ruined by the bloody spiky seeds (that look like corn on the cobs) gone straight in the bin and my bloody wellies hurt to wear now. These bloody bastards.

Well I guess its another learning lesson on exploring, and that is be prepared. Wear old exploring clothes, always carry extra torches/batteries etc Now youve an excuse to buy a new pair lol
