Built in 1867-68 by the the East London Water Company, filled with water from the Thames at Sunbury (near Feltham) via filtration and pumping works at Hanworth Road. A 36-in. main was laid 19 miles across London across London to the Reservoir at Finsbury Park. Water flowed out through mains to the Waterworks at Lea Bridge. The reservoir holds 5 million galls and the spoil from its the construction was used to build up the north-east section of the park. Now drained and abandoned, Thames Water found cracks in the roof in 2012.

Photos don't do this place justice.

Pity nobody would lend you a decent torch so you could do the place some justice :( although the last 2 are nice in an arty way . It's just a pity you only show the bare minimum of an iconic structure .

Looks like you all had fun though :thumb

Point taken, though I'm afraid the limitations of the camera are equally, if not more, responsible - 8 sec maximum exposure is never going to do you any favours in this place. Equipment upgrades will come, but not before this place is re-sealed.
