I visited this place early one October morning with klee666 and two others, unfortunately the pics from outside are a bit dull and inside a bit dark as the weather was terrible. This was a great explore as the building is massive and due to the leaking roof and lack of repair we had to keep on our toes. The walkway above the 6th floor was most interesting as it did not feel very strong underneath our feet.
Thomas and Richard Foster established this oilseed crushing mill on Bakers Quay in 1862, the mill continued to be managed by three generations of the Foster family until 1945. The original premises comprised of a six storey warehouse with a two storey extension, this was later extended between 1891-1893 to the main building seen today. The mill was replaced in the 1950's by a larger oil extraction plant in Avonmouth and this site was sold to west midlands farmers who used the building as a distribution depot. Unfortunately I could not find any info on when the mill closed its doors for good.
