Just took a quick look around this place. I've always wanted a proper look around here, been passing it for prob 20+ years as with 1000's of people that drive along the road every week. :cool:

This is a gun position built during World War II (1939-45). It was one of three Heavy Anti Aircraft Batteries built to defend Blyth from attack by the German navy, though it also had anti-aircraft guns. Remains of the gun emplacements can still be seen.

totally un-charved, tho there is some bits that have been demo'd/filled in.

1 of the ammo stores around the outside of the big rings. theres 3 of these next to each other, all with many rooms like this.. with picture 2 at either end.

the pics dont seem rubbish to me, at least you took some:)

cheers, just the first one really. its hard to get the whole site in the pic but not being so far away that people cant make it out lol.
