Opened 1965 - Closed 1991

Visited with a camera crew for Midlands Today, and the former Commandant of No' 16 Group (Shrewsbury).

Internally the post is in great condition, it is bone dry and undamaged, a prime candidate for restoration; although it has been comprehensively stripped of all equipment. Annoyingly, the teletalk and FSM box have been taken since Nick Catford made his report in 2001. Hopefully it has been rescued by somebody who cares about the post, and not simply stolen as a souvenir.

Down the hatch, the hood is to avoid the usual ROC hazards i.e. Large unhappy spiders, that look as though they've been pumping iron, ending up in your hair.

The exterior of the hatch is in great condition, but there are large vertical cracks starting to appear in the ventilation shaft, if not addressed, these cracks will cause the shaft to collapse, turning a bone dry and well maintained post into a flooded wreck.
