A local-ish place I spotted not so long ago, which I thought deserved a look when I had a chance. I've always loved shooting big glasshouses and this one had a good few of them as well as a few surprises on site too.

H.W. Hyde & Son is a family owned and run plant nursery, specialising in Lilies but offering a huge variety of plants. There isn't much further information out there other than they started growing in 1926, and have won dozens of Royal Horticultural Society gold medals at both the Chelsea and Hampton Court flower shows for their lily displays. They moved from their base in Ruscombe just outside Twyford near Reading in late 2018/early 2019 to a larger site in Rusper near Horsham.

There is an apparently derelict house situated right next to the nurseries however after going up the walkway to the front door and seeing a very, very new Ring camera setup pointing right at us, we decided to leave that alone just in case. The numerous glasshouses are supplemented by an interesting workshop building and a small boiler house containing one ancient boiler and a relatively modern one. There were also a selection of very weird artifacts left over presumably from displays of some sort including miniature Chinese buildings and two large foam and wire elephants.

You can't beat big glasshouses especially when the light is good. Everything grows so much in them. Always nice to have the attached boiler house.
