Hartshead Power Station was a coal-fired power station situated at Heyrod, Greater Manchester in North West England. Supplied by the Micklehurst loop railway line, the power station had a extensive network of yards and railway buildings.
The line closed completely in 1966 apart from coal traffic as far as the Hartshead Power Station at Heyrod which continued until 1972. The power station was demolished in 1989.
The entire area is now heavily wooded but some building are easier to access than others.

Aye, I thought it was a rail shed or something, nicely done!

I don’t think your aware, but the area next to it that dips down into the valley has a swampy path, and just a small wall of brick. But on the other side, is an entrance underground. I’m going to explore it on monday
